Metal Gear Solid Cast - Codec Mission Control Cast

For Snake's mission control buddies I wanted good actors that I believed would fit the characters well along with not being huge stars themselves.

Colonel Roy Campbell: Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Godzilla, Argo, Total Recall 2012)
Cranston has wrapped up Breaking Bad, where he really proved his range as an actor. His turn in the 2014 Godzilla movie is also building up to be a really good dramatic performance. He can play sympathetic, authoritative, amiable and tough all at the same time with gusto. I can defintiely see him play a very good Campbell, who is one of the few people Snake trusts and a tough military guy.

Naomi Hunter: Rebecca Hall (The Town, Iron Man 3, Transcendence)
I know people are going to get on my case for not casting Monica Belluci as Naomi, so let me get this out here - just because the character got turned into a fanservice model in the fourth game doesn't mean she's all hotness and no substance. And while Belluci's not a bad actress, I'm not casting her just because she's the popular choice; popular choices are also trite and overdone. Anyway, Hall is is a beautiful actress with a down to earth quality to her that would bring a lot of heart to Naomi's morally grey characterization. She's also played intelligent scientists as well, which she's got going for her nicely.

Mei Ling: Liu Yifei (The Forbidden Kingdom)
Whenever I look at other people's casts, it often seems like people forget that Mei Ling is very young and intelligent, with a kind heart. I went for Liu Yifei due to her fitting the age, nationality, being bilingual, and having a very kind and sweet look to her that would lend itself well to her.

Nastasha Romanenko: Anne-Marie Duff (Notes on a Scandal, Shameless UK, several Shakespeare plays)
Admittedly, this is a long shot. Calling Nastasha on the Codec is more-or-less completely optional, but she still plays a very important role in the overall story. I decided to cast an actress a bit on the older side (as Nastasha was a child during the Chernobyl disaster) that isn't a huge star, so I went with James McAvoy's (young Charles Xavier) wife, Anne-Marie Duff. She looks exactly like Nastasha and she's talented too. It's perfect as far as I'm concerned.
